What is SABRENet?
The South Australian Broadband Research and Education Network (SABRENet) is a major project to develop an optical fibre broadband network linking important Research & Education sites in metropolitan Adelaide. SABRENet provides researchers with very high-speed broadband connectivity and the ability to handle large volumes of data.
Research & Education sites linked to SABRENet, include
- University campuses
- Medical institutes and teaching hospitals
- The Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO)
- South Australian Government research agencies
- TAFE colleges
- Public High Schools
- The Adelaide Innovation Constellation precincts of Waite, Thebarton, Mawson Lakes, Flinders and Florey (CBD and North Adelaide).
SABRENet is part of the Australian Research and Education Network (AREN), which links South Australia to national and international research networks.
